Pancake Load Cells

Tension and Compression Load Cells

Universal Tension/Compression Load Cell – Standard Industrial

Universal load cells are capable of measuring both tension and compression forces from 25 to 200,000 lbs. These bidirectional load cells mount with a variety of threaded connections to fit most applications. Built to survive harsh industrial environments with fully welded stainless steel construction, universal load cells from tecsis employ proven strain gage technology capable of calibration class ±0.03% FSO linearity. Universal load cells feature very low deflection and minimal sensitivity to extraneous forces, making them a workhorse in the industry. They are adaptable to many applications with internal or in-line amplification, metric threads, integral cable or a variety of connector options and dual bridge designs available heavy duty high accuracy canister unit designed to measure ranges from 100 to 200,000 lbs. Universal Tension/Compression Load Cell - Miniature

Miniature tension and compression load cells - from 0.75" to 1.38" in diameter - are capable of outstanding performance over ranges from 50 grams up to 10,000 pound. Miniature load cells are capable of combined linearity and hysteresis of ±0.20% FSO and provide a standard mV/V output. The threaded load connection is offered in English or metric threads. These universal load cells are built to perform in demanding environments with welded stainless steel construction and an operating temperature range from -65° to +250°F. Options include overload protection, underwater cable, extended TC, and in-line amplification.

Donut Load Cells

Donut load cells are a variation of a low profile compression load cell, and feature a through-hole design to allow installation around bolts or shafts. From small “load washers” to heavy duty industrial donuts with large inside diameters, these specialized load cells are widely used to measure clamping forces, bolt loading, and overload monitoring. Donut load cells from tecsis are offered in ranges from 100 g up to 100,000 lbs and deliver accuracy from 0.25% to 0.50%. Standard output is mV/V, with amplified output available via internal or in-line amplifiers. These donut load cells use proven strain gage technology combined with fully welded stainless steel construction and high overload capability to provide reliable performance in all applications.

Force Sensing Load Pin

Force sensing load pins are a unique type of precision load cell designed to replace existing clevis bolts, shear pins, shear axles, pulley shafts, and other load bearing pins. Load pins can easily and economically be incorporated into a system by simply replacing the existing load bearing pin, making them the solution of choice for monitoring loads on hoisting devices and lifting systems.

Load Pins provide overload protection and load limit data on overhead cranes, travelling cranes, container cranes, and gantry cranes. In addition, load pins are used to monitor hanging weights on oil derricks and coiled tubing injectors, and on all sorts of mechanical lifts, hooks, mooring systems, and cable tension applications.

Our engineers can provide a form-fit-function load pin replacement that eliminates special fixturing and allows your current clevis configuration to be transformed into a precision load monitoring system. Shackle Load Cells

This new Model XLK shackle assembly load cell improves upon the traditional load pin arrangement used to measure tensile forces on cranes, hoists, and other lifting devices. The unique shackle body design consists of dual sensing elements built into each leg of the shackle and provides accuracy up to 0.15% over ranges from 1,000 to 20,000lbs. By incorporating the load sensing capability into the legs of the shackle instead of in the pin, the sensor is always in the proper orientation for best results, even with a swinging or shifting load. Combining the outputs from the two sensing elements also provides exceptional repeatability. These products are protected under US Design Patent US D703,907S, other rights pending.

Cantilever Load Cells

Bending Beam Load Cell

Bending beam, or cantilever, load cells are rugged and highly accurate and suitable for a wide variety of both static and dynamic weighing and force measuring applications. The unique bending beam design measures loads and forces with ±0.1% accuracy (FSO, combined) over ranges from 25 grams to 10,000 lbs.

Shear Beam Load Cell

Shear Beam load cells look similar to bending beam cells, with the same low profile and small footprint. However, instead of bending the beam which contains the sensing elements, the structure of the load cell is designed to place that beam into shear. The result is a compact yet high range load cell for both static and dynamic weighing applications. Shear beam load cells deliver ±0.03% accuracy FSO (combined) over ranges up to 22,500 pounds. Variations of this design are found in precision load applications such as hopper and tank weighing, crane weighing, platform scales, truck scales, and silo weighing.

Parallelogram Load Cell

The parallelogram load cell is a unique double-cantilever beam design which provides a compact unit with ±0.02% repeatability, integral overload protection, and a high tolerance for off-center loading. The highly sensitive parallelogram configuration delivers outstanding performance in both tension and compression applications up to 500 pounds. This economical load cell is packaged for OEM process applications and is not a sealed unit.

Differential Pressure Transducers

Differential (delta) pressure transducers from tecsis LP cover a full range of applications with our heavy duty Model XPD Series available in low, medium and high ranges, and our unique customer-configurable Model SP007. These high accuracy differentials feature a bi-directional wet/wet or wet/dry design and employ proven strain gage technology to deliver reliable data over ranges from 0-0.5 to 0-10,000 psid. Pressure Transducers — General & Industrial

Pressure transducers and pressure transmitters from tecsis LP are offered in a variety of ranges from 0-0.5 psi up to 0-60,000 psi, with gage or absolute reference. High accuracy units deliver 0.05% (BFSL) and all outputs are available including 2mV/V or 3mV/V and amplified 0-5VDC, 0-10VDC, or 4-2mA with our CE approved amp which can be located internally or in-line. These reliable strain gage-based pressure sensors are fully welded and manufactured from 17-4PH stainless steel for durability in all industrial conditions. Miniature & Flush Diaphragm Pressure Transducers

Flush diaphragm pressure connections are the solution whenever the pressure port of a standard pressure sensor may become clogged during use. A flush or semi-flush exposed diaphragm provides fast and accurate response to pressure changes and will resist the build up of material on the diaphragm, thus facilitating cleaning of the pressure sensor. They are key components in the spraying or application of highly viscous media such as sealants, paints, coatings, adhesives, or other congealable media which can clog conventional pressure ports. The flush diaphragm design and miniature size makes them ideal for many applications. Internal Amplifier

Many of our sensors, both pressure and load, have the option of internal amplification. This option will amplify the strain gauge millivolt signal and deliver it to your data acquisition system in the form of an analog voltage or current.

In-Line Amplifier

External electronics amplify the strain gauge millivolt signal and deliver it to your data acquisition system in the form of an analog voltage or current. In-line amplifiers can be located away from high heat or other severe conditions, and also provide convenient access to zero and span adjustments.

In Cable Amplifier

External electronics amplify the strain gauge millivolt signal and deliver it to your data acquisition system in the form of an analog voltage or current. Our in-cable amplifier is housed in a robust die cast aluminum housing with an IP 67 rating for rugged use.

T.E.D.S.

All tecsis LP pressure transducers and load cells are available with an optional TEDS (Transducer Electronic Data Sheet) module that is fully compatible with IEEE 1451.4.

The TEDS module will store setup and calibration data that are automatically downloaded upon connection to a compatible data acquisition system. This reduces the possibility for errors associated with manually inputting the setup data, and dramatically minimizes the time required to setup for a test. The IEEE 1451.4 standard has been adopted and is available on the most widely used data acquisition systems.

The TEDS option can be specified on new transducers, or retrofit into existing units. Consult factory.

Hand-Held Meter

Portable, battery operated LCD display for load cells and pressure transducers. This hand held meter is designed for quick set-up and easy calibration.

Programmable Display

LED digital display for pressure transducers and load cells. This meter is RS232 programmable with either remote shunt or optional shunt resistor internal to meter.

Inclination / Tilt Sensors

As part of our Oil & Gas Series, tecsis LP now offers the Model LPI inclination sensor to measure inclination in the X, Y, or both X and Y directions (2-dimensional), used to measure the tilt angle of objects with respect to the horizontal. This unique sensor is useful as a safety component for measuring boom angle on construction cranes, platforms, and lifts. It also provides accurate data for leveling agricultural and commercial vehicles, monitoring drilling angles and derricks, or recording pitch and roll of ships.

This sensor can be configured to provide dynamic or static incline or tilt angles between 0° to 360° (single axis) or ±45° (dual axis) with a resolution of 0.01°. Pre-defined measuring ranges can be selected to suit the application, and switch outputs provide control based on limit angles.

Model LPI is designed for use in harsh industrial environments and outdoor areas with a rugged IP67-rated aluminum housing. The unit is highly stable across ambient temperatures from -40° to +185°F and experiences no gravitational error. Standard output is CSA approved intrinsically safe 4-20mA, with 0-5Vdc and CANopen also available.

Summing Junction Box

An amplified summing junction box designed for use with strain gage load cells which have a minimum of 1,000 ohm bridges. The unit electronically sums the outputs of up to four load cells to form a single output equal to the sum of the loads detected by each load cell. Model ISBA features four 5-position terminal strips for load cell input and one 7-position terminal strip with internally jumped sense terminals for output to the instrument. Summing junction boxes of this type are commonly used in a variety of large industrial weighing applications such as scales, bins, tanks, and hoppers.

Model ISBA provides a single output of 0-5 vdc (3-wire) or 4-20 mA (3-wire) to the data acquisition system. The output signal is trimmed via four multi-turn trim pots, one for each load cell. Model ISBA Is reverse polarity and short circuit protected and is CE approved. The card is housed in a rugged IP-66 rated ABS enclosure to survive harsh environments and can be conveniently located in-line and away from more extreme conditions. Options include special temperature ranges, stainless steel enclosure, and remote buffered shunt calibration.

Temperature Sensors

These custom temperature transmitters are designed for pressurized fluids and are capable of measuring temperature up to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. The body and probe are hermetically sealed and constructed of stainless steel with a minimum burst pressure of 3,000 psi. The probe length and temperature range is specified by the customer.
